The reality of orphanages in Haiti is that poverty plays such a roll in orphan culture. In the states it is thought that children in an orphanage are orphaned because they have lost their parents. In some cases this is true but children are also placed in orphanages through abandonment and by parents that can't afford to care for their children. In our home we strive to create a family atmosphere for anyone that comes to live with us no matter where they come from. At the same time we desire to come along side families so that poverty should never be a reason give up their children. Many choose to put there children in an orphanage for the mere fact that they are unable to educate their children. We are working to be a part of putting an end to this.
